It's all about GREY this fall.

This week I made a new pleated skirt that I find so trendy! My SINGER sewing machine (and my talent!) work wonders.

How cute! I think grey is the perfect color for this upcoming winter.
There's a lining under the skirt which gives a flattering volume.

I was inspired by the latest show of Antonio Berardi (Spring 2011) and I thought I should copy his design before the launching of the collection (Yes I know: it's rude of me).

My suede jacket is from BCBG MAXAZRIA (170euros) and my low boots are from ZARA (79euros).

I will share my patterns with you in my next blog post.

My jacket is ready!

My latest post related how I made my jacket, giving details on the process of making a close-fitting garment.
Now I can proudly wear my own design!

It goes perfectly with a little black skirt for a sexy look:

...or with an all-black jumpsuit for a more glamourous look (a night out, restaurant, rendez-vous,....)

Which look do you like the most?

This golden jacket adds the perfect classy touch to a sober outfit. It is definitely my new must-have!

PS: I wouldn't be right if I didn't admit BALMAIN was my inspiration :-)

Sewing Tutorial

Hi everyone,

This past Sunday, I began the tedious process of making a close-fitting jacket, which is an imitation of the famous BALMAIN shoulder-padded jacket.
It  is a very difficult and meticulous task in my life as a young designer.

Every part of the garment as to fit my body perfectly. No crease, no ruck, no fault will be tolerated, for every single imperfection is bound to be conspicuous, regarding this kind of fabric (goldy viscose).

So far, I've made the oversewing and the joining of the different parts (sleeves, back, front, collar) but I haven't cut the lining parts. I'm using black cotton for the lapel.

I had to trim the armhole because it was to big for my shoulders.
I always spend a great amount of my time for the alteration....

I'm going to edit a video tutorial next week that I will upload on Youtube for you to see.
This could be so helpful to any of you who wants to learn how to sew, or how to improve your knowledge of designing.

Stay tuned!

What do you guys think so far of my jacket??

My latest design

Last week, I made a high-waisted silk dress. I like the shape, especially with the sidelong ruffle that I find so chic and sexy!
I took me 5 hours to draw the skirt, design the pattern and sew everything.

Look how refined is this wonderful cream-colored silk!

It looks so perfect with a loose T-shirt. Summer is coming to an end but I still have a tanned and glowy skin which contrasts with the color of the skirt.

What do you guys think?

PS: it's a well-known fact, your bestfriend is always the best accesorize to match your outfit! :-)

What inspires me to dream

Hi everyone,

This is my video of presentation for the Loren Ridinger contest.
The subject is roughly to discuss what inspires you to dream. (Fashion, of course...!)
What do you guys think?

Victoria Beckham Fall collection

Recently I've been truly stunned by VB latest Fall/Winter 2010 collection.
I particularly like this satin draped dress that Victoria herself was wearing for the Range Rover event on July.

The cut of the dress enhances the beauty of women figure, the drape gives a hint of volume and harmony which contrasts with the length of the hem, and the subtlety of the color gives a wonderful allure to any woman. Subtletly and right balance, isn't it the very definition of beauty?

(Leighton Meester wearing Victoria Beckham on the set of Gossip Girl)

I really admire her sense of style, her proper use of fashion.
Elegance is what Fashion is all about.

No surprise she has been nominated DESIGNER BRAND OF THE YEAR from British Fashion Council. Mulberry, Burberry and Pringle of Scotland are up against the Beckham label for the award.
The winner will be announced on the 7th December.

Here are my favorite pieces from her 2010/2011 collection.

I like Kim Kardashian style!

Hi everyone,

Today I decided to talk about one of my dearest inspiration: as a designer, I love imitating the style of the Hollywood celebrities. This is the presentation of my best Kim Kardashian inspired pieces. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

This dress is a tribute of her appearance on the Letterman show in 2009.
This grey one-shouldered dress is so classy and glamourous, this is basically Kim's signature look.
I used a very good fabric to sew this piece: it is the very fabric the tailors use to make men jackets.

One word: MAJESTIC! This one-shouldered dress was worn by Kim at the 2009 Emmy awards.
I used cotton. I tried to make it look more "Bollywood" since I'm Indian.
I took me 8 hours to sew it: totally worth it.

This is the old sexy look of Kim at her debuts in 2008! I used cotton/spandex fabric and white lace for the cuffs.

NEXT TIME, I WILL SHARE MY PATTERNS!

MY EMMY AWARDS TOP 3

Last night, The Emmy awards were such a huge event, a wonderful star studded ceremony.
My question is: Who was your favorite red carpet pick for the best gown last night?
I find it hard to make a decision, for all the actresses were most elegant.
So I decided I should make a TOP 3:

My Top 1 is EVA LONGORIA PARKER

Eva Longoria looked marvellous in this black gown, I love the very chic train touching lightly the prestigious red carpet as she is gracefully posing for the photographers. The lenght of the dress gives the impression that she is taller than she really is. She has an inner elegance which is so precious and that the dress enhances. She pulled her hair back into a wavy bun, so that her hair might not compete with her gown. She humbly added a remarkable piece of jewellery designed by Loren Jewels (Lorenjewels.com) What a wonderful harmony Eva!

My Top 2 is: LEA MICHELE

The GLEE star looked stunning in Oscar De La Renta last night! I love this designer, his work is full of art and creativity, I truly admire the way he raises feminity to its highest level. Lea wore this unique piece of art perfectly. The ruffles add a bit of originality, exoticism and grandeur to the character. Needless to say Lea was unforgettable at the Emmys.....

My Top 3 is: NINA DOBREV

How prestigious is this pic of Nina rocking her cream-colored lacy gown. That was the very dress to wear for such a ceremony. The one-shouldered aspect gives some lightness to her figure, as the drapped train adds a goddess look to it. The shape of the dress is so well-balanced, and Nina's tanned skin matches perfectly with the creamy color.

What do you guys think of my report on the Emmy awards best dressed? I would love to have your opinion on it.
